Mikko Laakkonen was born in Espoo, Finland, in 1974. He studied the construction of musical instruments and also designed and built a few guitars before changing direction to focus on his design studies at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. Mikko Laakkonen’s work has been included in several exhibitions in Europe and the United States. Since 2004, Laakkonen runs his own design agency in Helsinki. In addition to Casamania, Mikko Laakkonen also collaborates with Covo, Bosa Ceramiche, Offecct, Pasabahce, Selki-Asema and Inno Interior.
