Bakery was founded in 2009. The studio consists of designers Ran Amitai (Born 1980) and Gilli Kuchik (Born 1983). The designers met and became a couple in life and in design during their studies at the department of Industrial Design at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem Israel. The designers believe in a design process based on hands-on experimentation and play with materials and technologies and finding new ways of interpreting traditional production methods and object typologies. Gilli and Ran live and work in Tel Aviv, Israel.
